So Now That The Economy Is Out Of Recession - What Next?

History shows us that more businesses fail as the economy comes out of recession than during recession. Don’t let it be you!

Why is this so? During the recession a business often fights for survival, and uses up its “fat” (spare financial resources) such that when the economy starts to pick up the business finds that it does not have the facilities available for it to meet the demand for its products or services.

Given that the UK economy only grew by 0.1% in the last quarter of 2009, and many economists expect that it will dip back into recession later this year, it is likely that this phenomenon will be even more severe this time around.

Banks may be willing to lend money, but rarely on the same terms as before.  After all the business is not as strong as it was pre-recession. So what can you do?

At DoddRESCUE we have the expertise and knowledge of dealing with such situations, and helping businesses to properly prepare a financial request to their banks, such that the bank will have greater confidence to provide new facilities. We are also used to dealing with their “Special Lending” teams to seek a successful turnaround of the business’s fortunes. Banks don’t like to see their customers fail, but can only help properly prepared businesses.

If you feel that you or any of your clients would benefit from a chat with us about your/their financial circumstances, then DoddRESCUE offer a free half hour consultation to offer guidance on the choices available. If you are interested in talking to us, contact Carol Tindal or Jackie Parsons on 0800 9540520.

New rules being brought in by HMRC on 1 March 2012 will effectively ban the use of the informal winding up of companies to take advantage of 10% tax rates.

This announcement is largely in response to the growing trend of accountants advising their clients to leave profits in their company and then extract them at a 10% capital gains tax (CGT) rate on an informal winding up of their company.
